ST BOUNCY CASTLE HIRE FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Q: How do you inflate the bouncy castle when you have delivered it? Will I be able to put it down?
A: Our bouncy castles are inflated using electric fan blowers. They are simply plugged in to a suitable socket in your house or out building; we supply long extension cables and power breakers with all castles so you don't need a socket nearby. To deflate the castle, simply unplug the fan and it will slowly collapse (make sure nobody is using the castle at the time!).
Q: What happens if it’s raining or particularly bad weather on the day of the booking?
A: If the weather is bad/raining then we will call you on the day discuss if you want to still go ahead in extreme conditions we will have to cancel for Health and safety reasons.
Q: How much space do I need for a bouncy castle?
A: The size of each unit is given in the item description. This includes the front access step. You should allow at least 18 inches each side of the inflatable and 3 ft in front for the safety mat. To the rear, you must have a clear 4-5ft to allow for the blower.
Q: What kind of access do you need when you deliver the castle?
A: The castles are wheeled in to position using a trolley, so we will need a standard size path to get the castle in to your garden or venue. If you have a lot of steps or a tight entrance way, please let us know so that we can assess the access.
Q: Can the bouncy castles go indoors?
A: Yes the bouncy castles can go indoors but you must check the height of the ceiling before booking. The ceiling must be higher than the height of the castle booked (taking into account any lights or things that hang down from the ceiling). Heights of all our castles are on our website.
Q: Are you fully insured, if a child gets injured who's to blame?
A: We hold a policy for 5 million pounds public liability cover, however as per our terms and conditions we cannot be held liable for any injuries caused whilst the castle is in your care. You are the sole person responsible for the castle and its use and therefore should anything happen, you are liable to a claim as the hirer. Our Public Liability covers US against set up faults or faulty equipment etc.
Q: How much notice do I need to give to book a castle?
A: As much notice as possible. During busy times we book up well in advance so let us know as soon as you have a date in mind, we will do our best to accommodate you. We do take bookings on the day subject to availability.
Q: Do you charge for cancellation?
In most cases we don't charge a cancellation charge, so long as you give us notice the night before 6pm, so that we can hire the castle out to somebody else. If you give us no or very little notice (other than for very bad weather) then you may be liable to a £25 charge.
Q: When the castle is delivered, do I have to set it up myself or do you do it?
A: Our staff will completely set up the castle, give you a demonstration on how to use it safely and then leave it in your control. When we turn up to collect the castle, we will also dismantle it on our return.
Q: How many children/adults are allowed on the castle?
A: Each castle has different limits. Please note children's castles should never be used by heavier adults, remember the hirer is responsible for any damage.
Q: Is it ok to put a bouncy castle on my lawn, will it cause much damage?
A: We actually prefer to put the bouncy castle on a lawn area. For safety reasons we must hammer in PEGS to hold the castle down during use. The castle will have a ground sheet placed under it if required please ask, (this is no extra cost). so the grass will not come to any harm. The holes left over from the securing pegs will disappear after a few days.
Q: Can you put a bouncy castle on a concrete floor?
A: We prefer not to for safety reasons. If you have no alternative surface then please tell us this during booking so that we can arrange for sand bags to be in the vehicle when we deliver the castle.
Q: How long do I get the keep the bouncy castle?
A: We usually deliver the castles first thing in the morning and then collect them later on that day. If you want it for more than one day please mention this when you book, this will of course be reflected in the price (additional £30 extra).
Q: Am I allowed to hire this castle from you and then charge people to use the castle?
A: Yes you are, but you must bear in mind that you are in charge and must make sure that people who use the castle are safe, don't overload the castle to try to make extra money. As the hirer you are liable for any damages.
Q: How many children can fit in a bouncy castle?
A: Generally speaking, between 6 and 12 kids at one time. This really depends on the size of the children and the castle.
Q: Are your units safe? Will you teach me how to have a safe day of fun?
A: Yes, they are designed from the ground up with safety in mind. In addition, we review all safety rules with you prior to use. While no one can guarantee safety, we do everything we can to promote safe use of our products to ensure your day is filled with fun, not hospital visits.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: Prices start from £55 pound for a children's castle All the prices are on the individual castles on our website
Q. What if it rains?
A: All our Castles come with shower covers and all our extension leads are fully shower proof so showers won't stop play!
Q: What are the appropriate ages for bouncing?
A: We cover all ages. We are insured for children, teenagers and adults, so anybody can join in the fun.
Q: My garden slopes a bit - will that be OK?
A: Yes. A slight slope is not a problem. Typically, we will place the entrance of the unit at the top of any slope. If the slope is more than a little, we may not be able to set up in that location. Your installer may request an alternate location so please have one in mind. The safety of the children is the most important consideration when selecting a set up area.
Q: Does it need electricity? How much does it use?
A: Yes. We will bring a 50 foot extension cord with us, so you'll need an outlet near the set up area. The blower runs continuously and uses approximately £0.18 of electricity per hour. Your blow dryer uses more than that! NOTE: All blowers and wiring are safety checked before delivery.
Q: What time do you deliver and pick up the bouncy castle?
A: Rental periods vary. The typical range of rental time is 4 or 5 hours to all day (7 or 8 hours). You decide on the specific time you want the bouncy castle set up by and we'll have the equipment set up before that start time. It only takes approximately 15 mins for a children's castle to be set up and ready to go. If you have special requirements for an exact set up or pick up time, (for example, your event is in a location that you have rented for a specific amount of time) please let us know.
Q: What are your hours of operation?
A: Our office is open Monday to Friday 8am - 11pm Saturday 7am - 12pm But you can book on line 24 hours a day 7 days a week. Our customer support lines are open continually on the weekends.
Q: My party is tomorrow. Can I still get a rental?
A: Maybe! Give us a call and we will try to work it in, (this is subject to availability).
Q: Can I keep the bouncy castle over night?
A: Yes! We do over nights for adult units at an additional charge of £30 and a £100 refundable deposit. The bouncy castle must be an adult’s castle set up in a back garden or area that is fenced and locked up. The fence must be at least 4 feet tall. St bouncy castles reserves the right to deny any event of this service. St bouncy castles also reserves the right to cancel the overnight portion of any event at any time if we have reason to believe that our property is at risk of injury or theft.
Q: Is it cheaper if we pick up the bouncy castle ourselves?
A: No. In fact, St bouncy castles does not allow for this. All of our drivers are trained as professional installers and are certified by St bouncy castles to be the exclusive installer of our equipment. Our insurance requires that our installers do an onsite inspection as well. Where the safety of your children is concerned, we do not take any chances.
